dyslexia I
Interactive Audio Theatre Installation

I listen to the woman at the other end of the phone. She shouts at me about a bad connection, and then she says happy to hear from me. She asks me to call her back. The line goes dead. Her voice, her absence, is replaced by the sounds around me: cars, music, coughing, a cigarette being lit. I try to imagine the woman’s situation.

I can only guess, but to guess is not to know. My mind drifts. The telephone would become a terrifying weapon, noiseless and leaving no trace, smashing down onto my skull, the cord pulled tight around my neck. A different communication; I ring her back.
